Questions
Questions people ask first
Do you take my insurance?
Quietude Therapy is out of network with insurance plans, and we do not bill Medicare or Medicaid. If your plan reimburses out-of-network counseling, you can claim part of the fee back with a receipt from us.
What is a receipt for reimbursement, and how do I use it?
A receipt for reimbursement, called a superbill, lists the date, the session length and a diagnosis code, and you can send it to your plan. The plan may reimburse part of the fee. Your plan will see the code, and it decides whether it pays, so ask before you start.
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a written estimate of the cost of your care before it starts. We send one before your first session. If a final bill is $400 or more above it, you can dispute the bill. The estimate is not a contract.
How much does a session cost, and how do fees work?
The fee depends on the length of the session: 30, 50 or 80 minutes. It is given to you in writing before you start, and you pay at the end of each session. A limited number of reduced-fee spots are held each season.
Can I use an HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Both work for sessions here. Keep your receipts, as your plan may ask for them.
What happens in the first session?
You talk with Lidia, at your pace, about what you would like from counseling and what to turn down in the room: light, sound, pauses. She explains how sessions work, and nothing happens that is not explained first.
How often will I come, and for how long?
You and Lidia decide together. Sessions are 30, 50 or 80 minutes, and how far apart they are can change as your weeks change.
Are you licensed where I live?
Lidia is licensed in South Carolina. For a session by voice or video, you need to be in South Carolina at the time. If you are somewhere else, we cannot see you, and we can talk about who might.
What do I do in a crisis?
Call or text 988, any time; in an emergency, call 911. This office is not an emergency service, and a message or voicemail is not read right away.
What is confidential, and what are the limits?
What you say in a session is kept private. Lidia shares it only with your written permission, or when the law requires it, for example when someone's safety is at risk.
Can you see my teen?
Not at this practice. Lidia sees adults, 18 and over. If you are looking for a counselor for a teen, we can suggest where to start.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours' notice. A session canceled with 24 hours' notice is not charged, and you can ask to move it to another day.
Something we did not answer?
Write and ask. We reply within one business day.
